From Geohashing

2 Jul 2008 Planning

So, it's a nice geohash on the road shoulder of CTE towards AYE, just after Balestier Rd (exit 7D), before Moulmein (exit 7C). Should be possible to get very near the exact spot on foot, though slightly dangerous due to traffic. To play it safe, walking along Jln Kebun Limau outside ITE Balestier, should be close enough. Definitely good for a speed racer geohash.

I propose a late afternoon meetup at Potong Pasir MRT, taking a cab (before 5pm to avoid peak hour charges) for the speed racer geohash via: Serangoon Rd, Whampoa North, Jln Toa Payoh, CTE, Moulmein exit, alight at Balestier Rd in front of Quality Hotel. Then walk back to Jln Kebun Limau and try get as near as possible on foot. There's quite some good food at Whampoa Dr hawker center, if anyone's interested in dinner after that.
Alternately, an evening trip (after 8pm to avoid peak hour cab charges) and supper is also possible, but approaching on foot may be more hazardous at night.

I'll try to coordinate if anyone's interested; leave a message here or drop me an email with your contact number. -- r0d3n7z 17:59, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Update: r0d3n7z, 137.132.3.6 and a friend will be meeting at Boon Keng MRT station control at 7pm and will walk there via Towner Rd / Mcnair Rd. Dinner at Whampoa market is planned. -- r0d3n7z 03:52, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

4 Oct 2008 Discussion

How much do I suck? Perfect spot out in the burbs at [1], and I completely spaced it. Anyone else go? -- Adavies42 16:09, 6 October 2008

Was probably inaccessible -- either part of Mandai Hill Camp (military) or part of disused quarry property. -- r0d3n7z 07:24, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

(Almost) Reachable Hash Point!

Today's is viable! See you there at 4:00pm! -- Adavies42 02:01, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

...or not. Looks like it's in the middle of a runway at Changi. <sigh> -- Adavies42 02:10, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Reachable?

Today's looks viable, just off the edge of the Nature Reserve. (The only problem might be getting across the Bukit Timah Expressway.) I'll be there at 4 if it's doable! -- Adavies42 02:35, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Hooray, Singapore is still alive! Good luck crossing the expressway - Danatar 08:10, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Will be here in March

I will be in Singapore in March. Please wish me luck that during my stay there is at least one accessible hash point in Singapore! --Bierhefe 09:09, 11 December 2011 (EST)

Oh hello! Good luck, I'm just hoping for one anytime soon - as far as I know there hasn't been one in months! If an accessible hashpoint does turn up during your stay that would be awesome. I might probably be there too! -- Cyazlars 13:40, 13 January 2012 (EST)
Well, if you see an european looking couple at a hashpoint during the first two weeks in March (5th of March to 16th of March to be exact), it's propably me and my wife! :D --Bierhefe 10:37, 15 January 2012 (EST)
Too bad, Internet was too expensive where we stayed and I couldn't sign up to Wireless@SG... so it wasn't possible for me to look up the hash points. I will check if I acidentally walked past a hash point, though.--Bierhefe 15:05, 17 March 2012 (EDT)
Nah, you didn't miss anything, I've been keeping tabs all this while. No accessible hashpoint for me either for the entire two weeks. I think the last one was on March 3 - I didn't go for that one. Can't say it's bad luck, hashpoints are few and far in between here. Hope you had a good time though! --Cyazlars 04:49, 18 March 2012 (EDT)
Yes, it was a great stay. A bit too hot for me sometimes (got a sunburn on my last day...), but I really am not used to temperatures above 30°C, heh.--Bierhefe 09:42, 18 March 2012 (EDT)
