Talk:Drag-along achievement

From Geohashing

who has not heard of geohashing before

so you have to drag someone along with you, and when you reach the point you shout surprise and explain to him what he just did? I guess (almost) all of the people dragged along knew what they where doing before they started the trip, so technically (almost) nobody could claim this award.

I think i achieved this once. I told a friend that i would be in Hedge End recreation ground at around 4pm but didn't say why. When my friend turned up we explained what was going on. -- sermoa 16:39, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Shouldn't it be changed to who has not geohashed before?

Nope, neither. It would be a funny write-up if you just convinced them to walk into the middle of the woods/desert/swamp with you, but normally you tell them about geohashing and coax them to go with you. It's okay if you have been telling them about it for months and finally get them to go.

If you take along someone who has heard about geohashing independently it's just two geohashers going geohashing, albeit one who is a first-timer. If you invite someone along and they say they might have heard of it from reading xkcd, but they aren't really sure, show them the Drag Along achievement description and let them decide. You're allowed to say "I get a ribbon if you say you hadn't heard of it before," to help them decide. Enough? -Robyn 02:19, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
