Talk:Conroe, Texas

Huntsville vs. Conroe

Should I have kept the Huntsville name? I just thought since more people live in Conroe that it would make more sense to name it that. But that was before I noticed that the Houston page claims Montgomery, which would include Conroe. Although most of us would not travel to the southern parts of the Houston area... :-) -207.70.169.36 18:14, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

  • I think I added Huntsville to the directional box, just because it was central. But I'm from Dallas, so I wouldn't know. Likely as not, I'd have called that graticule to the south of Conroe "Pasadena", in honor of Gilley's. --RobertB 16:41, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
    • Good point about it being Central... Do we want to change it back? Probably not as easy. -W0lfie 16:57, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
      • It's a wiki, so it's as easy as doing a "move" plus a redirect. And it's less than a week old, so it wouldn't be too hard to fix the links (use "What links here"). But if Conroe has a higher volume of XKCD readers, it's probably just fine like it is now. That other one, though, should definitely change to Pasadena, Texas. :) --RobertB 17:05, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
        • I was in college before I learned that "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena" wasn't referring to Texas, but to CA. oh well!-W0lfie 02:57, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

2008-05-24 Meetup

Anybody going to Edenwood Drive for the meetup? It's near Kuykendahl and Hufsmith. -W0lfie 16:57, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Guess not. Oh well. I got there a little late myself. I wasn't thinking and forgot my camera. Had to use my wife's cell phone.  :-( -W0lfie 02:29, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Anyone up for this weekend? It looks like an awesome spot in the middle of nowhere (but still close to a road), and I'm bringing a friend. Can I expect anyone else?
