Plans

Initially, I planned to cycle the entire way. But it was supposed to be a rainy and stormy day, so I was trying to minimize my exposure to the elements. Maybe I could do a Midnight Geohash to get there before the rain starts? But it was supposed to rain all night too.

Instead, I planned to cycle to the Unweltstiftung bus stop, take the bus to Recke/Espel, walk the short distance to the coordinates, and do the same in reverse on the way back.

Expedition

In the morning, I cycled to the Umweltstiftung bus stop in the rain, but the bus passed without taking me. Change of plans, guess I'll be outside a bit longer than planned. I cycled to the Altstadt station, took the train to Ibbenbüren-Esch, and cycled the rest of the distance to the coordinates.

It had indeed been raining all night and throughout the morning, so everything was wet, but luckily it was not raining while I cycled, first uphill to Dickenberg, then downhill towards Espel.

The coordinates were located on a meadow, as expected. I walked through the medium-length wet grass, located the coordinates and recorded proof.

Afterwards, I cycled to the Recke/Espel bus stop and took the bus back to Osnabrück. I missed the Umweltstiftung stop and instead got out at the Berufsschulzentrum stop. Mere seconds after I left the bus, heavy rain started pouring as I cycled back home - at least it was not far.
