I'm attending a training event for Big Brothers Big Sisters tonight after work and will try to swing by on my way home.

Expedition

Certainly not my most exciting of expeditions, but still worth the while.

My wife and I both had things going after work, so we agreed to meet for late dinner and drinks after our outings. Since the hashpoint was in an area outside our normal stomping grounds I suggested we once again use The Algorithm for a random dinner adventure. During a break in training I checked Yelp! against the coordinates and chose El Fuego based on an inside joke with a friend.

The visit to the hashpoint itself was simple. Originally I planned to park in the large lot and walk across the field. My GPS had me pull into a smaller lot which was only a hundred feet or so from the hashpoint. The sun was on the way down and the crescent moon and Mars were visible amidst the orange and blue sky hovering just above... the goalposts of the football field in which I was standing. I don't think my picture quite captured it.

As I was leaving another car was pulling up. I considered hanging around and seeing what would happen, but decided to catch up with my wife for dinner instead.

The restaurant was pretty nice and the food was good. Catching up over a meal was exactly what the doctor ordered for us both. A wonderful find we never would have had without geohashing.
