Location

This geohash happened to fall extremely close to the camping ground at which a number of regular geohashers from Sydney were staying for a week's holiday. Time to holiday geohash and conquer this virgin graticule!

Report

A number of regular Sydney geohashers had gone away together on holidays for a week camping up the coast. We were staying within the National Park, and had no internet access or mobile phone reception. When we went into town on one of the days we were disappointed to find that the geohash location from the previous day had fallen around 20mins away from where we were staying and would have been quite achievable.

Two days later when again in town we were amazed to find that the geohash location for that very day was a mere 3 mins drive from where we were camping. Time for holiday geohashing in a virgin graticule!

We noted that the hashpoint fell within an area that was thickly vegetated. Upon arriving in the vicinity we set out along the road to try and find an easy way into the bushland. To our amazement there was a walking track that was reasonably close to where we wanted to go. We followed the track as far as we could until the GPS told us we needed to head off the path into the more dense vegetation.

After bashing through the bush for 5-10mins we eventually located the hashpoint. A fairly unexciting patch of dense scrub. Necessary photos were taken, and we successfully conquered another graticule!
