We strive to keep a small, tight channel. People feel better sharing their problems when they're talking to a few, active users.

1. We are here to help.
   1. As far as possible, we try to give people what they need. If they need to vent, let them vent. If they need advice, we give advice. If they just want support, support them.
   2. Take people's issues seriously and give them the benefit of the doubt. They came for advice, clearly something is up.
   3. If someone asks for you to put off-topic discussions on hold, please do so.
2. Try to consider other channel members' viewpoints. Most people believe they are doing the right thing even if it seems otherwise from where you stand. Keep this in mind.
3. No public logging of any identifiable names, pseudonyms (including nicks), or personal information without the explicit permission of all involved parties.
4. Don't be a dick. (Please note that the contents of the linked page should not be considered part of the rules. Consider it more like guidelines.)
5. Mark NSFW links as such. Also mark disgusting links as such. Keep such links to a minimum. Minors are expected not to click on links marked NSFW.
6. Try to avoid things that make others uncomfortable. Propositioning (asking for sex/photos/etc.) and cybering make people feel unsafe more often than not. Keep these things private, and outside the channel.
7. We are not a dating service or a no-strings-attached hookup board. If that is what you are looking for, look elsewhere.
8. Nicks have to be at least semi-pronounceable. This means nicks like aquaman and wst are allowed, but not o_O. Try to stay alphanumeric.
9. Say something at least once a week to let us know you're alive. People who show no signs of life for extended periods of time may be kicked.
10. Please don't spam. Spam includes excessive nick changes and flooding the channel. Pressing the enter key after every word or sentence fragment is considered spam. Please learn to use the spacebar.
11. Only humans are allowed on this channel. This means no bots.
12. Racism is not tolerated.
13. Please respect other people's privacy and trust. Only share secrets that are yours to share. Consider that some people prefer to keep their names, photos etc. private.
14. Kicks are to be used with extreme discretion.
15. Threats of violence will not be tolerated.
16. Keep discussions in the channel PG-13. Sexually explicit etc. discussions should be held in another channel, such as #xkcd-sex, or in PM.
17. Rape is not a humorous topic.
