Also, I will turn this car around. --Xkcd admin 12:32, 24 April 2008 (UTC)xkcd

I think jokes should be allowed, but I'm also going to enforce nick color matching gender and sites being linked with simple words like "site".

Question. Under what circumstances is the green color allowed? Also, can we put Bucket back? Elyscape 17:29, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Ignore that first question; it seems that green is gone. In its place, might I ask what to do with, for example, Tiara? On the one hand, she's an M2F transsexual but, on the other hand, she also put her gender up as an interrobang and the green color for "other gender". Elyscape 17:33, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Ignore that second question; it seems that sexuality is gone. In its place, might I ask what to do with, for example, Reality? On the one hand, it's full of waffles, but, on the other paw, it also leads to the wholesale slaughter of humans, which may be EQUALLY delicious but hardly moral. Fredd 18:20, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
I don't know - this *is* #xkcd, so jokes make sense. But Denizens was always supposed to be real info about the people, not really jokes. Couldn't we just put a Denisenz page for jokes? Zigdon 22:48, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
This is true. On the other hand, I don't really see why Bucket shouldn't fit here, especially since he was on te old Denizens page. Elyscape 23:33, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
If it's about real people, then we should be about the realness of people and not the silly tags people wear. Silliness, jokes, and lies are a better window into real people than "true" facts.thatGuy
I agree. No one's lives are in play here. I think it's perfectly okay to have some jokes in peoples' entries as long as it's not in the way of information folks want. Some categories shouldn't have gag answers, like PE problems solved, where people might be seriously competitive. And it's good not to overwrite real information that people might want. But on the other hand, by executive order, lighten up! This should have the solemnity of a Bucket factoid, where important stuff is preserved, crap is looked down on, and good jokes are revered. This discussion is approaching the ridiculousness of a wikipedia talk page: overly srs about nothing important. --\(☣∪☣)/ (fredd) 12:34, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

This is XKCD FFS! Lighten up people. I'm thinking we need <3 thunder on the wiki now, we're getting way to serious, and that's not xkcd... --user:nameless
See Heart Thunder. Also, you can sign your posts with ~~~~. Elyscape 18:07, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I think the gender and age columns should be the other way around, or is it some kind of joke?

nickcolor and gender, images

The nickcolor parameter to the Denizen template has been removed, because it now colours your nick based on your gender. The image parameter now only needs the name of the image, not the image link, and uses this image if not supplied. IceKarma 02:40, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Humbly suggest that a google results category be added, next to PE solved. Require oreos and House. Acquiring. Geekthras 05:00, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

This does not make sense to me. --\(☣∪☣)/ (talk)(contribs) 07:01, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
i.e. new format would be uhh EDIT:shitshitshitshit formatting

{{Denizen |nick=Avish |gender=M |age={{age|1983|3|15}} |location=Israel |solved=10 |results=79000 |etymology=Avish (adj.): Possessing some measure of avity; resembling an ave. Were you going for this?

Avish 33 M Israel 10 79000 Avish (adj.): Possessing some measure of avity; resembling an ave.

- "Uh, that's kinda avish, dude. I don't think I wanna touch that."

I still don't see the point. But if you went and wrote a PHP extension to google usernames on an orderly basis, then implemented it, I'm sure no-one would say you nay. This coming from someone who gets "aroused at useless data" --\(☣∪☣)/ (talk)(contribs) 05:16, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Sweet! that's a cool script to have!Feureau 09:08, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Aging out

Should some of these entries get moved to another table or something if the nick hasn't been seen in the channel for a certain amount of time - say 6 months to a year? This does make somewhat of a maintenance hassle, though.

Denizens spam

We've had a few spam waves recently, and I think it's from people using the wikiuser=XXX column in Denizens without actually having a userpage. Anyone who had that value set, but no actual page, has had that value deleted. Please only set it if you're willing to maintain your userpage. --joannac 08:57, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

enforced gender colouring

Can we please, please get rid of the gendered colouring? It's annoying as fuck, and has kept me from adding myself to the list. Ladymondegreen (talk) 16:52, 22 January 2014 (EST)
