Hey, the ice was thick enough, man! I went to the exact spot about an hour ago! There's still time if you want to get to the point! Although my gps (Garmin eTrex H) showed the point to be only 10 meters from the shore, with the five-decimal-accuracy it had. The GPS reception was very poor, though, because of the thick snowing. But the ice seemed uniform thickness, I examined it with an ice hoe. However, just wanted to let you know that the point is accessible. I will write full report this evening.
