Huh, "war" sounds a bit strong. I see where you're going though. You won't get everyone's approval but then again not every idea has to appeal to all people ... how about "geohash battle" or even "geohash clash"? - Mampfred 13:47, 29 January 2013 (EST)

Uh… Zertran came up with the name! I'm innocent! *runs off screaming* --Calamus 15:26, 29 January 2013 (EST)
I may have introduced the term, but it was just a little taunt in a summary message of one edit, nothing to be compared with a red ribbon declaring war between two different regions of the world. I agree with Mampfred that the term is maybe a little too strong, and would encourage to find something that doesn't bear the risk to hurt feelings. The concept is worth to be kept :) PS: I'm Zertrin :PZertrin 16:50, 29 January 2013 (EST)
I see your point and I agree. Sorry to anyone I may have hurt. I forgot some countries are a bit sensitive to the subject. Is "rivalry" any better? Sounds less like genocide and heaps of liveless bodies while still capturing the spirit, I think. -Calamus 16:58, 29 January 2013 (EST)
I like it :) — Zertrin 16:59, 29 January 2013 (EST)
had the same concern, 'war' sounds a bit too strong. i like 'hashclash' much better. but rivalry is also fine, of course :) --Chris 47 8 17:36, 29 January 2013 (EST)
Definitely voting for hashclash, you can never have enough neologisms :P Apart from that, agreed. -The T-Man 04:25, 30 January 2013 (EST)
I agree! Too bad "hash collision" is already used. Renamed once more. --Calamus 13:42, 30 January 2013 (EST)
I didn't want to push but hash clash was also my favorite right after I thought of it :D - Mampfred 16:31, 30 January 2013 (EST)
