From Geo Hashing
This achievement is awarded to a geohasher who does most or all of the travelling to the hashpoint by hitchhiking. It is distinguished from a Drag-Along Geohash by the fact that the hitchee is not originally aware of the geohashing attempt. If the hitchee decides to join you to the hashpoint, then it becomes a drag-along. If you ask a friend to drop you off at/near the hashpoint, it doesn't count as hitch-hiking so much as "bumming a ride" :-).
