Talk:Dow holiday

From Geohashing

I know this must be under discussion elsewhere on the wiki by now, but I'm concerned that I can't get Easter Monday geohash coordinates from peeron. Can someone calculate them for me so I know where to hide my easter eggs? -Robyn 16:19, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

As one of the underprivileged (i.e., one who dwells west of -30), you'll have to wait for Monday's opening. Easter Monday is not a Dow holiday. --starbird 16:42, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Dow holiday == Déjà Vu Geohash

Nah, the date is included in the calculation, so the coordinates are different even though the stock market value doesn't change. -Robyn 23:34, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Juneteenth - possible new Dow holiday (from 2022)

I've been checking the official NYSE calendar monthly since the federal holiday was created in June 2021. Since it seems they've now officially published the holiday for 2022 and beyond, I've added logic for it to Template:Dow holiday and made the appropriate edits to the Dow holiday pages. --Tim Parenti (talk) 16:01, 17 October 2021 (UTC)
Well done! Interesting note about the past holidays. Presumably it would be divinible by examining the [non]occurence of past openings? Arlo (talk) 05:59, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
