"Worse comes to worse, it's a "No Trespassing" achievement." HAHA, been there, done that :( (happens to the best of us) -- Micsnare (talk) 20:30, 10 February 2015 (CET)
except we made it! No no-trespassing after all! -- OtherJack (talk) 14:34, 10 February 2015 (EST)

OtherJack, nice to see you are still in the business, meeting fellow geohashers! --Zb (talk) 15:00, 10 February 2015 (EST)

Nice! Congrats to you all and a shoutout to OtherJack, nice to see you're still going strong! ;) Greez, B2c

Thanks all, it's easy here in New York because there's a Facebook group for organizing the meetups! You just have to wait a while to get a decent point... -- OtherJack (talk) 17:27, 10 February 2015 (EST)

I like your comment about the subway being closed for construction work. When I was in NYC some years ago, very late on night, I had taken a detour in roughly that area because the shortest line was closed, too. Someone sighed just a little too much when the construction/closure announcement came through the train, and a nice MTA worker, dressed in orange, remained very cool and said: "Subway system is one hundred years old. Even if it was perfect, you'd have to maintain it." Being someone who believes in fixing stuff till it really can't be fixed no more, this remains one of my favorite quotes of all times. Thank you, orange MTA person. Thanks, OtherJack, for bringing back that memory. --Zb (talk) 04:40, 19 February 2015 (EST)

You're welcome -- I'll have to keep that line in mind next time I'm delayed on the subway for maintenance! The difference with NYC is that the trains run all night, 24 hours which means construction inevitably leads to service blackouts at some time. In most places they can do a lot of the maintenance late at night while the trains aren't running. -- OtherJack (talk) 09:14, 19 February 2015 (EST)
