Thanks, but just wasn't to be this time! Greenslime 01:43, 5 December 2011 (EST)

Wow that is a little freaky, and damit so close too! How deep a canal are we talking? Is this something you need to cross if you're going to summit Mt Hauhungatahi? JimmyNZ 09:38, 5 December 2011 (EST)

No, the channel was mainly in the area I needed to get across for the hash. It was muddy and there was tall flax on the other side. I probably would have attempted if I had you to convince me but I just wasn't confident. And I had a pile of Railway workers peering on wondering what I was doing. Also, took me a while to find the path to the summit too: it's not exactly a well worn track! Found it though! Old Baldy awaits our adventure! 5-6 hours some random reckoned, 1521 m, 800 m ascent - awesome! Greenslime 14:11, 5 December 2011 (EST)
Having strangers watching you who belong there when you don't, and you have to do something that would appear to be between silly and insane, is pretty demoralizing. --Juventas 21:18, 8 December 2011 (EST)

You might be eligible for "My Kingdom for a Boat" due to the canal. Jiml 21:06, 5 December 2011 (EST)

Awww, the canal wasnt that large really, I could have vaulted it, but accumulated with what lay beyond the canal, there was just no point, but thanks for the idea! Greenslime 23:00, 5 December 2011 (EST)

Commiserations! That was a really cool terrain map! :) Stevage 08:30, 8 December 2011 (EST)
