Aww! you can use science to convert them, you know. I'd never heard the term Babylonian coordinates, but I knew just what you meant.

Say you have N49.2943852 as your decimal latitude coordinate. You know the 49 is the same. So 0.2943852 * 60 = 17.663112 So you have 49 17.663112 Repeat 0.663112 * 60 = 39.78672 So the latitude is N49 17' 39.79"

If you don't have a cellphone or something to use as a calculator it's quite simple arithmetic that can be done on paper or by scratching in the dirt. -Robyn 19:29, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
