From Geohashing

"Sorry if this sounds odd," I said, "but can I go and stand in your field?" -- Ha ha ha. You are definitely getting geohashing right. Excellent job! I usually put my GPS on the ground and try to shoot it at a bit of an angle to avoid the camera reflection in the GPS. I'll sometimes put on the backlight and turn off the camera flash, too. -Robyn 01:52, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the tips. I realised when resizing the photos at home that they're much larger than I think, so I was probably trying to hold the GPS waaay too close to the camera. I'll try the ground next time -- well, if it's less muddy, anyway. Thanks -- Benjw 06:08, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

If you're interested, this would entitle you to the ambassador geohashing ribbon too, if you wanted it. -- UnwiseOwl 02:01, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks; good thought. It seems a bit cheeky to take that, though -- there wasn't really any negotiation involved! Perhaps I'll add it to this one but put a Real Ambassador Geohash on my list of things to do... -- Benjw 06:08, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
