Minneapolis's northwest graticule is at latitude 45, longitude -93. This graticule, based on N45º and W93º, contains the northern portions of both Minneapolis and St. Paul. It also includes most of the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities. The graticule extends north almost to Mille Lacs Lake. The area is bordered by Interstate 35 on the East side.

Besides the city, this graticule contains numerous small lakes as well as woodland and farmland, potentially leading to an interesting variety of meetup locations.

Local Geohashers

ElectorCount wants more people to geohash this summer!

Erik Wants to get Geohashing restarted in the Twin Cities. He live near White Bear Lake.

Rob lives near this and Minneapolis SW, Minnesota. Will check Wednesday's hash.

Ford thinks this is cool but is adverse to driving very far. So if we stick with this coarse 1-degree grid (see discussion), I'll wait until the hash hits close to home. Have fun!

Erica actually lives in the SE graticule of the Twin Cities (St. Paul SE, Minnesota), but is open to traveling to other Geo Hashes that are somewhat close by.

digory lives here and will attend either these ones or the Minneapolis SW, Minnesota as he has time and they are reasonably accessible (or unreasonably as he has more time)

Brendan lives in the Saint Paul area but is willing to travel anywhere within a reasonable distance

Joel is tall and blonde, lives just northwest of Minneapolis and will strike, er, visit, at random. (He's a nice guy, really.)

Eric just realized this exists after not getting the joke in #426. He laughed anyway.

Alan lives in the NE corner of graticule 44 -93, on the East side of St. Paul.

Randall lives in New Hope and will randomly travel to any nearby geohases when the mood strikes.

Haysoos lives near Minneapolis, and will try to show up if he can figure out how this works.

Christopher's birthday is Oct. 25th, a saturday in '08 meet up if you'd like to help gather birthday ribbon proof!

Tyler lives almost precisely on the border of the NW and SW graticules, so he'll check both every day in the hopes of making a successful attempt sometime real soon! Hopefully with you!

Steve lives in the NE most corner of graticule SW Minneapolis (44, -93) near the U and is new to this, but will try and keep an eye out for nearby hashes near the corner of the four twin cities graticules.

Aaron lives at his dad's house in Minnetonka (in the Minneapolis SW graticule). He might show up in one of the four Twin Cities graticules (or possibly the St. Cloud or Hutchinson graticules) if he actually remembers to go.

Hey Minnesotans! I know it is cold, but is anyone considering today's hash? It is dead simple, located on the main baseball diamond on the grounds of the Parkview Center School. It is a long drive for me, I live 4 hours away in Wisconsin, but would love to see someone there! WausauBill (talk)

Attempts

Successful attempt. Joel made it to the spot at 4pm but there was no one there. Very cool that it was a spot close to the city on a Saturday, but a pretty difficult location to reach.
Geohash attempted. Abi stopped next to the field where the coordinates fell at approximately 4:30. There was no way that she was going to attempt to sneak past the person on a tractor mower next to the field and hop the fence, so she got back in her car and continued on her way back to Minneapolis.
