I'm thinking cougar, not bobcat. -- Rhonda 06:37, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

I was looking for a visual comparison like that one! I used Wikipedia's measurements (they say 1-3 inches). It seems a tad small for a cougar, and a tad large for a bobcat. Note that the top track is smaller. The Canadian Lynx is supposed to have tracks in between the two, but are much rarer than either. I think I just wanted to believe it was bobcat since they generally leave humans alone. Juventas 07:44, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Cougars are generally pretty shy as well, and you'll rarely actually see one. I'd be more likely to think young (small) cougar instead of exceptionally large bobcat if the track is an in-between size, but unless your hands are really small that track looks like it could be 3-4" across. I just measured the width of my four knuckles and they're 3.5" wide - and I don't exactly have wide hands. There's also the possibility that the smaller track was from a different cat. Like a cougar kitten. :-) -- Rhonda 14:51, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
