The graticule in London West contains the City, West End, and many western boroughs. It also extends as far as Slough and Reading to the west, Luton to the north, and Crawley to the south.

The graticule has boundaries from 52° to 51° latitude, and -1° to -0° longitude. When following the XKCD geohashing algorithm, append the fractional hash part to 51° latitude and -0° longitude. Note the use of negative zero.

24th May 2008 (Saturday) - The nearest village is Dunsfold, a mile away to the south-west; however, it seems to be a pretty small village. The point is in a small wood; streetmap.co.uk shows a path going to the exact point!

31st May 2008 (Saturday) - Near Horsham, in "Monk's Wood".

7th June 2008 (Saturday) - Between platforms 13 and 14 in Waterloo Station.

17th June 2008 (Saturday) - Tomorrow (17/06/08) the hash falls just inside MOD land (I think) in Swinley Forest. Anyone going to go for their Restricted Area Geohash achievement?

Steve will hopefully be trying to go to near the hash in the evening by mountain bike.

14th June 2008 (Saturday) - The nearest clearly defined point to the co-ordinates is the end of Spring View Road, Ware.

28th June 2008 (Saturday) - The meet-up point is in the playing fields of the Metropolitan Police Club, Aldenham Rd, Bushey - not sure whether access to the field is restricted or not? About a 20 minute walk from Bushey train station for anyone travelling out from London.

15th December 2008 (Monday) - Amersham Road, close to Chalfont and Latimer Rail Station.
