After the successful devirgination of the Rice Lake graticule 2019-01-19 45 -91 my GPL and I looked at the map and saw that the hash for the next graticule going west was also very close to if not actually in a roadway. So after lunch and our geohash hash we continued west on State Route 29.
Expedition
Once again, although the day was cold, the trip itself was completely uneventful. We cruised along highway 29 for about 45 minutes and then was directed by Google Magic Voice to head into the countryside.
The countryside itself was quite beautiful, rolling hills and curvy roads with the occasional farmstead.
As the spot seemed to be either in the road or very close, we thought we would attempt a Speed Racer, which actually turned to be successful. As we cruised through the spot, my lovely GPL kept her eye on the phone and snapped a screenshot at just the right moment. We turned around and rolled back to the spot, snapped a shot of ourselves and our surroundings and took a few shots on the way back home.
This was the day before the Super Wolf Blood Moon (or whatever the Internet was calling this month's full moon) so we were treated to an enormous ghostly moon rising about an hour before the sun set. Simply fabulous.
We zipped through the graticules we had been through on the way out and arrived home just after darkness fell.
