Expedition

Here it is.

As enthusiastic travellers Pastori and Wife had relocated 670 km from their homestead to the most south-western part of Finland. And of course as enthusiastic hashpoint hunters Pastori has to be aware of all possible and sometimes impossible hashpoints. Today the nearest possible point was only 4 km away from their lodgings.

So, they headed off that morning, unfortunately in their car because no other vehicles were available to them. But a car was a good option too in sunshine and through old winding country roads. After setting off on a smaller road towards the point they started to despair a little because on the very same side of the road where the point was supposed to be there ran a chain-link fence, which was apparently the edge of a field for sheep. The fence went on and on but to their immense relief ended right at the spot where it was the shortest way to the point. Good luck for Pastori. After exiting their car there was only 150 m of pine forest to walk through, but it was such an easy terrain they didn't even need their boots. After some dancing at the end, Pastori was able to capture an accuracy of 2.5 m which made him warm on the inside as well. At Wife's request they went through some coastal scenery researching history and having at good lunch at Louhisaari, which is the birthplace of our former president, Marshal of Finland Mannerheim.

Travelling around your own country is worth it for the increase in knowledge and learning but also the number of hashpoints conquered.

Is Pastori dreaming of going out to sea?
