Expedition

Part 2 of today's adventure and finishing up the drive from Maryland after visiting my brother over a long weekend in North Carolina. Part 1 can be found here.

Following the directions from the GPS on the phone from the earlier Hash, I made my way through Pennsylvania. Approximately five hours later, I was nearing New York and Allegany State Park(ASP).

Knowing there is an entrance to the park from Bradford, PA, I made my way through Allegany State Park. I should note that half-way through PA, it was snowing and by the time I got to ASP, it was looking more like a winter wonderland than a Spring day. Getting to the Beehunter Cabin trail, I made a pit-stop at the bathrooms before driving to the top of the hill, closest to the hash. Being the middle of the week, I didn't see any of the cabins occupied so I didn't worry about parking in one of the driveways. Hopping out, I started making my way to the hash and after crossing a small creek, located the hash-area. The snow had accumulated to about ankle-deep but was fluffy and my pants managed to keep the snow out of my shoes.

Practiced in the art of the GPS dance, I closed in on the hash-point and got my pictures. I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the time to stop for this hash, but I'm glad I did. The trees were gorgeous and the Hash-Stops were a nice break from all the driving. Making my way back to the car, it was just a final hour and twenty minutes to home.

Unfortunately, I didn't visit a hash the next day so the consecutive streak ends here. This was a great finishing touch to a fantastic road trip to visit my brother and his family in their new home.

Bonus: There is more than one Expedition for this day, but I am the only one Geohashing on a Multi-Hash so these two should be a Last Man Standing.
