A 20 + 20 minute walk to reach the hashpoint and return using tractor tracks and field perimeters.
Expedition
There was a safe place to park off the main road beside the farm tracks. There was a choice of muddy tracks or grassy but slightly overgrown field perimeters. These led close to the hashpoint. A few paces across a damp field got me to the zero point nine minutes ahead of the plan. It was overcast, not raining and the temperature was 7 or 8 C. This is good weather for the time of year. Street lighting from Haverhill was being reflected off the low cloud base so it was quite light and my torch was hardly used.
