Plans

This is going to be Part 1 of a Multi-hash starting in the Buffalo Graticule. Part 2 can be found here. I have to drive to this early in the morning as I am taking a friend to Columbus, Ohio to enjoy a Columbus Crew (soccer/football) match later in the evening. I probably wouldn't have gone to this hash, but it is the first opportunity I've seen in quite a while on Grand Island in the Buffalo Graticule. I'll be adding to my Regional Geohash for Grand Island if successful. I'll then go back home and finish getting ready for the trip. We'll be leaving for Columbus around 10am and after we get to the hotel, we will venture out for the second Geohash of the day.

Expedition

When I woke up in the morning, it was raining and a heavy(but narrow) band of storms were crossing the area. I decided to finish packing first and then drive up to the hash.

I left the house around 08:00 and the rain had mostly stopped by me, but I knew as I was driving North, I'd probably drive back into the rain. I was hoping that by the time I got to the hash, it would be the tail end of the rain.

I had no trouble getting there and found a place to park on a side street by the hash. I walked over to the field with the hash and stayed mostly dry under my raincoat as I navigated around the edges of the trees to zero in on the hash. I had some difficulty taking pictures on my phone when the rain made it hard to register finger taps, but I eventually got them.

Success had, I drove back home to relax for a little bit before going to pick up Dean for our drive to Columbus and a second Geohash.
