Expedition

DODO

I saw that Q-Owl announced his coming to the hp, and as I had the time, I decided to get there. We are looking for a meetup for - ever? Unfortunately I had to be back home at 4 pm and so I had to be there not after 2 pm.

I sent a message to Q-Owl, saddled my bull at high noon and rode to Bensheim. I came near the hp at 2 pm as planned, but the road, osm showes to be nearest to the point turned out to be the the goods receiving lane of the Bauhaus. The gate was wide open, but first, the entrance was obviously private, and - more important - there was a high fence between the lane and the hp. The meadow next to the fence was also locked by a barbed wire and divided by another fence. So I rode to the other side of the meadow, but the road seems to end at the farmhouse. Maybe, there is a very muddy path but I didn't want to leave my bull near the barking dogs from the farmhouse. I made a third attempt from the other side of the meadow where a service station was close to the hp. I found the entrance to the muddy path and walked for 20 m. There was a buzzard sitting on a pole of the fence and some geese were behind it near the farmhouse, making a lot of noise, when the buzzard flew over them. So I didn't expect the fence to be open, returned to the bull and continued my way to the station. Here I wrote a message to Q-Owl, what attended him to my first message - but obviously to late. Luckily he went there nevertheless, as he was much more successful than me.

Q-Owl

I drove near the hashpoint. As DODO told me by SMS, the hashpoint was on a meadow, fenced with barbed wire. So I tried to win my first ambassador achievement and went to the farmhouse and stables next to the meadow, but nobody was there.

On my way back to the car I saw that the fence was a few meters wide open and it looked like there was nothing, which could have closed it during the last year.

So I went to the hashpoint, took a few photos and went back to the car. :-)

Tracklog

53 KM bullriding. The hole in the fence must be in the gap of the rectangle around the hashpoint.
