Temporarily aborted due to traffic congestion. Perhaps try later.
Attempt two
The traffic had died down and I was no longer running late. Originally I planned to visit this point before lunch. The jammed roads would have caused me to miss lunch - unthinkable!
I parked at the road-side and used the parking lights to mark the vehicle. It's safer but not always possible to park off road. The field entrance was not gated. The sandy soil was quite dry. There were tractor tracks everywhere with no sign of a crop. Potatoes and asparagus have similar fields but the earth banking would normally be deeper. This was a mystery crop, perhaps harvested sugar beet, but it was easy to step from track to track.
