Atlantic storm Desmond was flooding northern England and Scotland. In the south east, it was very windy but dry. It's quite unusual for wind gusts to be strong enough to make you stagger to keep on the path. The hashpoint was in a dry field of stubble, not yet replanted. The return walk with a tail wind was more pleasant.
