I drove past two Ludham boat yards where Norfolk Broads cruisers were moored. Some showed signs of life with holiday makers in residence. There was a roadside verge to park and then a public footpath to follow. In the first meadow, cattle were grazing. In the next, it was empty. The gate where I needed to turn off led into a field with no cattle. There were some young inquisitive cows in the next field, separated by a drainage dyke. In bright moonlight I walked through the long grass covered in dew which was beginning to freeze. The drains were in their expected positions and I was able to reach the hashpoint without any backtracking. Success without damage or disturbance.
