Take public transit to Hayward, walk to the geohash via the nearest grade crossing, and return.
Expedition
I plotted out a walking route that wasn't blocked by any fences, following a service road from the Whipple Road crossing. However, I forgot to check for any signage keeping people out. When I got to the railroad crossing I was confronted by "Private Property: No Trespassing" signs, and thence went no further.
