Expedition

Danatar

After successfully visiting the 49 8 hashpoint, I planned to do a doublehash. The country roads through the Odenwald mountain range made for relaxed driving in the great sunny weather. From Pfungstadt I drove to Höchst, then I reached the Main river near Klingenberg. I followed it through Miltenberg, then crossed the river at Freudenberg. The Freudenberg castle looked interesting. Continueing along the Main, I finally reached Faulbach. On the country road I drove past the hashpoint, but I wasn’t able to stop there. 400 meters later I took a small exit. From the satellite image I knew that there was a track leading to the hashpoint. The boom barrier of the company located there stood open, but there were lots of signs labeled “keep out”, so I didn’t go in there. I hopped back into the car, drove past the hashpoint again and stopped on the other side of the company property. The barrier there had fallen or been turned over, but there was another “no trespassing” sign. Defeated by those signs I went back to my car and continued to Würzburg, first along the Main to Wertheim, then along the Autobahn A3 to Würzburg.
