Expedition

Today was a very special day: the Hash was too close to miss again, and then the world turned upside down, so it was Jens who told me to see the Geohash point because he had no time to go himself. So to complete the picture I took his orders and went there after work. Of course it was one of my typical well-prepared expeditions: because Jens had informed me about my quest only that morning, I somehow lacked equipment, so I only had:

  • my GPS device that's getting more unusable every day (but is still useful enough not to get rid of it), so right now the display is very weak and the most important button doesn't work most of the time
  • a camera with two uncharged batteries (and my phone isn't able to take pictures)
  • a heavy backpack full of useless stuff I needed to take home
  • and Davey, who is my emergency hashcot for spontaneous afterwork hashes.

After work there was also a little rain and lots of fog, but I cycled to the point without problems and my GPS was at least nice enough to show me the last bit of way to the point. Trying to take a photo was not that easy because the button for display lighting didn't work properly plus the camera's batteries were empty, so I always had to wait a little while before I could take the next picture. Anyway, I reached the point and was even able to document it, so it's alright, isn't it?
