My plan was to go there by tram and by bus, looking for the hash, then traveling home.

I left home at about 12:00, took the tram 3 to Druseltal and changed there to the bus 22. I arrived at the bus stop Essigberg at 13:19. It snowed and there was a fog.
This was the first try to go into the forest. With it's result: mud with water on it, frozen. But not as thick to bear a person. And slippy beyond the snow.
The street I choose to walk into and through the forest seemed to be a military road. I knew that there was firing range nearby, but I found no signs for it.
At the side of the road I found this sort of grass. At first it looked problem-free, but then I heard a gurgle and a look to the details showed me a brook flowing under the grass. With the snow on it and some sort of ice it looked dangerous, and I asked me, if I had been right there.
This path leaded me nearer to the hash, but already in fog and with falling snow.
At this place it was the nearest point to the hash, but I felt uneasy with the track. Walking alone into the forest with fog and snow is not the best dream. So at first I followed the main track, maybe I would find a way around.
But I didn't. This is a narrow path steep down the hill. And with the snow and the ice above the leaves in the forest it looked very dangerous. So I returned to the first spot and stepped there into the forest.

| The photos don't show the difficulty with walking through the winterly forest. Step by step, walking around abatis, looking for paths around wet grounds and stumbling over dead trees.
Here I was only 67 meters away, and I always was asking, if I was right there, but I was too far from the upper way and too near to the hash, that I couldn't resist.

Behind this tree there was the hash. At this point 6 meters away.

I wondered, there I came down the mountain.

After finding the hash I tried to find a way outside the forest. Found me near a meadow, with an old forest track, at first I tried to find a way across the meadows. But I didn't take this way. The meadow was wet, very wet, with a pond in it.
But changing back to the forest was not an easy way. There I found this brook. But at least I crossed it.
Oh yeah! I like this game!
Then I reached the end of the forest at some other meadows. This was the best way out.

| The way out.
I followed these traces. The car's trace leaded me to a main track. The man's and dog's trace leaded me at last outside the area.
