The map points to what appears to be a back porch but the actual coordinates once we arrive could very well end up further into the back yard or even inside the house itself. I have to recommend that we tread carefully when attempting the necessary diplomacy required to hit the spot. Dressing to moderately impress and being dutifully respectful will go a long way.

If anyone's interested, there's an Applebee's (less expensive), The Keg (more expensive) or The Sidelines (sports bar) a little ways from the mark over in Factoria if anyone wants to grab dinner and/or a drink afterward!

In line with the suggestion, this would be a great way to nab the Formal attire achievement!!

Approach (Thomcat)

Got on the freeway, ran into traffic. Didn't factor in the end of a local sports game, which clogged all the freeway. My messages (and locations) to that effect - an enterprising soul would be able to calculate the depressingly low rate of speed I had between those messages :(

Pulled up at 4:58pm to see four Dapper Dan's standing around, at least one of whom I recognized. Parked, shook their hands, Saturday 4pm meetup achieved - now can we get to the actual geohash point?

Expedition

Success! AeroIllini, Thomcat, P4r4digm, and dragalongs Todd and Alex successfully completed a Saturday meetup at the coordinates. After meeting the occupants of the house and explaining what we were doing, they agreed to take a picture of their back deck for us, which was very close to the point. P4r4digm and Todd were both dressed formally, and thus achieve the Formal attire achievement!

Reflections

Under the circumstances (five large men at the door, albeit nicely dressed), I completely understand why the occupant didn't want us to tromp through the house to the deck. She first offered for one to do so, and I thought once the gentleman of the house talked with us about our employment that we might succeed with that offer - alas. The photo taken was nice and they do have a really nice view. And yes, I believe that does qualify for puppet master. --Thomcat 01:45, 19 August 2012 (EDT)
