Dunkirk Airport - Taxiway C
So Angel Food cake awoke to the sound of Red Velvet all excited about the points for the day. They all stunk, except for this one located on a county airport, two hours away. So Angel Food cake got to researching what type of airport it was and who managed it. One phone call and two explanations later we had received permission to meet the nice folks at Dunkirk Aviation and they would take us out to the point in a golf cart, Ooh La La Nifty. We arrived about 15 minutes later than was conveyed over the phone for three reasons.
1) Victory Cake - 30 Minutes to bake
2) Trains - Apparently they have the right of way :(
3) Bing Maps - Their time estimate is perfect, if you are speeding.
Thus we arrived at the airport. Our original contact C. was running an errand and wouldn't be back for a little while, unfortunately though we wouldn't be able to wait too long as Red Velvet had an errand of her own to run back home. Thankfully J. was available to take us out, even cooler was that we could be able to take our car. Our escort J. navigated us to the point and even took our photo, you can see the sign for Runway 24/Taxiway D. Angel Food left a little chalk mark saying we had been there on the side of the taxiway, which most likely was washed off in the rain that came shortly after. J. seemed interested in the geohashing so we handed him the ambassador paper and the link for today's hash.
J. If you happen to start geohashing you can totally rock the Virgin graticule, Cubicle geohash, and Restricted area achievements. Also you might possibly qualify for the Déjà Vu Geohash if you've got a photo of you near there from an earlier date. If you do decide to start hashing, keep in touch
