Location

On a probably dirty, muddy field south of Apolda, near the village of Kleinromstedt.

Plans

Juja will cycle there after work, expecting to arrive about 6 pm. Since my GPS is (temporarily?) dead, I'd appreciate any company that can verify the exact spot.

Reinhard will probably cycle there after work from home (starting around 6 pm?), because it's just too close to miss. A pair of plastic bags for the shoes could be life-saving. A working Edge 705 will most likely accompany him.

Mampfred and Rincewind might come out too if we can agree on a meetup-time. We'll need about 45 minutes for the drive alone and will have to work to 5:30 / 6pm-ish. Would that work for either of you guys? Got a GPS each if that helps ;) - Mampfred 06:48, 14 March 2011 (EDT)

-For lack of feedback I am now democratically (me being the one speaking for the masses) establishing our arriving at the hashpoint for 18.15h. We'd appreciate meeting Juja and/or Reinhard. :) Rincewind 13:56, 14 March 2011 (EDT)

Ok guys. That time should be okay for us, too. Look out for persons with plastic bags on their feet. Hooray for consequent decisions! ;) - Juja

Hmm, wonder where you got the plastic-bag-idea from (see image / 2011-01-13_50_10) - since then I actually got proper hash shoes btw. ;) - Mampfred 09:55, 14 March 2011 (EDT)

I'm sorry to say, that this invention already existed (see image / 2009-05-28_50_11) years before you became a geohasher. ;) --Reinhard 10:13, 14 March 2011 (EDT)

LOL, how brilliant is that, see u guys l8er - Mampfred 10:24, 14 March 2011 (EDT)

Participants

Expedition: Juja and Reinhard

Reinhard came home from work and quickly prepared himself for the short (6.4 km) bike trip from Cospeda to Kleinromstedt. When Juja arrived right on time, they rode on together and got to the hash field about 18:15. Noone else was there, so they started walking on the field (looked like grass) and found the exact spot. While taking the first photos a suspicious car arrived and stopped at the edge of the field ...

Expedition: Mampfred and Rincewind

... before two strange, alien-like figures emerged and slowly approached the hash. They turned out to be Mampfred and Rincewind who were a couple of minutes late due to an accident on the outbound road in Erfurt towards the hash. Greetings were exchanged and photos taken. It was a rather short and dare I say slightly awkward meeting in the field although on our way back we couldn't quite make out why we left with that particular feeling.

Reinhard and Juja grabbed their bikes and walked us back to the car where we swapped some more hash stories and said fairwell. When we left it was quite dark already but since Reinhard and Juja both edited the page before we even got home I suppose everyone is fine :)

Anyway, it was nice to finally meet you guys and I'm sure we'll meet again on a dirty old path in a field somewhere ...
