Planning

Robyn was on her way to Seattle for some purpose she no longer remembers, and saw that there was an achievable geohash en route. It looked like she could peel off the I-5 at Everett onto Highway 2, make a right onto 43rd Avenue SE, right again on Ebey Island Road and nab the geohash with hardly a diversion from her route.

Expeditions

Robyn drove down the I-5 then exited in Everett to buy gas, so she didn't end up driving on fumes like last time she detoured off the I-5 for a geohash. Everett appears to be under construction, so Robyn drove around orange construction barriers until she found both a gas station and highway 2 and then headed east. The first difficulty came when highway 2 turned out to be elevated on stilts. If 43rd Avenue SE was there, it was far far below. Robyn drove past the entire valley containing the geohash, considered continuing to follow highway 2 to see if it would loop back around for a southern approach to the geohash. (Retrospective analysis says yes, but Robyn didn't risk it at the time, exited, came back on Highway 2 and eventually found a way to get down to the valley floor. The next part was as expected, with the point just inside a field, adjacent to an open gate. Zero GPS, take photos and back to the road.

I'll try to have a more exciting adventure next time.
