Expedition

Reinhard wasn't in the mood for a 100 km bike trip that evening, so he decided to do the boring part with busy roads by car and save his energy for a shorter bike trip on idyllic roads. From Jena he drove to Tröbnitz (near Stadtroda) where he parked the car and switched onto the bike. The hashpoint was located in the forest near the tiny village of Stanau. The electronic topographic map showed forest paths leading directly to the hash from the road, but at some point Reinhard couldn't find one of the direct paths and had to take a detour that finally brought him close to the hashpoint from the opposite direction after about 1.5 km on suboptimal (considering the road bike) paths. When it was only about 50 m to the hash, there was a highstand and behind that a steep slope with a kind of a clearance, that Reinhard had to climb. The wood was quite dense to both sides, but since the gps accuracy was rather bad and Reinhard could only be a few meters away from the hashpoint, he decided that staying within the clearance where it was possible to take an autotimer photo would be fine.

After that, Reinhard cycled all the way back to the road and continued the nice bike trip on roads, going through Strößwitz, Rosendorf, Zwackau, Burkersdorf, Ottmannsdorf, Renthendorf, Kleinebersdorf, Ottendorf, Lippersdorf-Erdmannsdorf and Waltersdorf back to Tröbnitz (47 km altogether), from where he enjoyed the drive back to Jena, while it was already getting dark.
